Télétravail: “Les femmes enceintes et les parents de jeunes enfants gagneraient beaucoup à un droit dédié”

by Camille Desjardins and Marion Fortin

We observe:
- That despite extended rights to telework during the pandemic, women have had to fight to be granted permission to work from home.
- In particular, they encountered reluctance from their managers.
- Reluctance in the form of extra work tasks, guilt-tripping remarks and incentives to come to work during Covid-19-related lockdown waves.

⤵️ We propose:
- A dedicated right to partial telework for pregnant women and parents of young children
- That the decision to grant permission to telework does not rest entirely with the manager.
- A reconsideration of work standards to move away from presenteeism, which only values time spent at the workplace, to focus instead on the tasks performed.
