Mario Gollwitzer holds a chair in social psychology at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich, Germany. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Trier in 2004 with a dissertation on revenge. Before he started his position in Munich, he was a junior professor of methodology and evaluation research at the University of Koblenz-Landau, and a full professor of methodology and social psychology at Philipps-University Marburg. His research focuses on:

  1. social psychological research on retributive justice,
  2. individual differences in justice sensitivity and their relation to moral reasoning and moral behavior,
  3. effects of violent video games on cognition, emotion, and behavior,
  4. and public understanding of and engagement with (social) scientific research programs and findings.
